Pappy & Co’s Basil Manhattan
Serves 2
6 Orasella maraschino cherries
6-7 fresh basil leaves
1/3oz Pappy Van Winkle barrel aged pure maple syrup
3-4 dashes of angostura bitters
6oz bourbon
Place cherries and basil in a cocktail shaker and mash with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon until well-crushed, about 1 minute. Add maple syrup, bitters, and bourbon. Shake vigorously. Double strain into rocks glasses filled with a large ice cube. Garnish with basil leaves and Orasella maraschino cherries.
