I often make extra when I whip up a batch of cocktails for Orasella’s photo shoots. Call it a perk of the job. Recently, I’ve been turning my extras into cocktail kits and leaving them at friends’ doorsteps. I mean, we all need something to look forward to, right?
Which made me think about you…and your Mom. If you can’t be with her this Mother’s Day, I promise, this cocktail makes the perfect kit: hibiscus infused gin, three limes, Orasella cherries and some hard cider. Add a grocery store bouquet and you’re set. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom.
Hibiscus Tea
1.5 oz hibiscus infused gin*
.5 oz fresh lime juice
.75 oz Orasella cherry syrup
Natural hard apple cider
Shake all ingredients, except the cider, vigorously over ice. Strain into a chilled coupe glass and top with the cider.
*Hibiscus Gin
12oz London dry gin
1 oz dried hibiscus or hibiscus tea
Peel of 1 lemon with as much of the white pith removed as possible
Combine all ingredients and allow to steep for 24 hours before straining. Makes enough for 8 cocktails.
